Course details
This training is designed at an introductory level to increase knowledge and confidence in engaging with disabled people and people with long-term health conditions.
The course has been designed alongside people with lived experience of disability and, or long-term health conditions. We have used their views and experiences to create this learning.
This course raises awareness and provides practical advice to create welcoming and accessible leisure environments. The training focuses on improving skills, knowledge and confidence in delivering excellent customer service to disabled people and people with long term health conditions.
By the end of this course, you will:
- Understand the importance of excellent customer service.
- Be more confident interacting with disabled people and people with long-term health conditions.
- Understand changes you can make to provide more inclusive customer service.
- Be able to reflect on your current practice and create an action plan to implement improvements based on your learning.
Who is it suitable for?
Front of house leisure centre staff, catering and support teams, fitness assistants, membership advisors, activity leaders and centre managers.

Accreditation
Upon completion, learners receive 2 CIMSPA CPD points.
